How to Press Woollen Garments

Set the iron to the wool setting and ALWAYS use steam when pressing wool. Avoid dry pressing your garment

Ideally, press on the reverse side of the fabric. When it is necessary to press on the right side of the fashion fabric, use a damp press cloth to avoid a shine (extra scraps of wool fabric make excellent press cloths).

Lower and lift the iron, do not slide it back and forth (this may stretch the fibres).

When ironing over folds, seams or darts a mark might appear, to prevent this happening, place brown wrapping paper or tissue paper under the fabric.
