Merino Wool
Merino is the most common material used in garments on this site and with good reason, Merino sheep are regarded as having the finest and softest wool. Spainish merio sheep used to the only ones who could be called true merino, however, with the quality of wool coming from foreign decendants of Spanish sheep now arguably just as good, if not better, the term has been broadened to included the excellent merino wools coming from Australia and New Zealand. In garment manufacture, "Merino" implies the finest wool.
